Apostleship of Prayer Ministry Staff


Rev. James Kubicki, SJ, National Director. In addition to being a frequent guest on radio and television, Fr. Kubicki is also a popular conference speaker, retreat director, and parish mission speaker. His areas of expertise include the Eucharist, the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the Spiritual Exercises, and the practical spirituality of the Apostleship of Prayer.

Fr. Kubicki's involvement with the Apostleship of Prayer goes back to his high school days when he first encountered the monthly leaflets with the Holy Father's intentions. In 1995 he became the Wisconsin Province Director of the Apostleship of Prayer, and in 1997 he became a member of the Apostleship's national board of directors. He became National Director on July 31, 2003.

Fr. Kubicki was raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He entered the Jesuits in 1971 and was ordained in 1983. From 1984-88 he served as the Vocation Director and from 1995-99 as the Director of Formation for the Jesuits of the Wisconsin Province, a seven-state region in the upper Midwest. From 1989-95 he worked at the Sioux Spiritual Center, a retreat house for Native Americans in western South Dakota. During that time he was also the Assistant Director of the Diocese of Rapid City's deacon and lay ministry formation program. From 2000-03 he was the Assistant Director of Demontreville, the Jesuit Retreat House in Lake Elmo, Minnesota.

Thomas J. Galvin, National Stewardship Director. Tom has twelve years' experience as a nonprofit stewardship leader for Catholic schools in the Chicago Archdiocese. He directed a successful $6 million capital campaign and initiated an annual fund that now exceeds a quarter of a million dollars. Through personal solicitations, Tom has secured numerous six-figure gifts to advance the philanthropic mission of Catholic organizations.

Tom brings extraordinary passion and expertise to his work. With a keen understanding of financial fundamentals and mission, Tom has shown an uncanny ability to connect with diverse individuals and groups. He fosters strong collaboration between donors and the organization to achieve mutual goals.

Tom has an undergraduate degree in marketing and an MBA from Dominican University, River Forest, IL. In his free time, Tom likes to run and bike. He is a HUGE Cubs fan and enjoys many games at Wrigley with his three grown children. His favorite Bible verse is this: "Let the man among you who has no sin cast the first stone" (John 8:7). Jacob Brandt, Director of Operations. Jacob has an extreme passion for the Catholic faith. In addition to managing day to day operations at The Pope’s Worldwide Prayer Network, he is a catechist at his local Parish for middle schoolers, and is on the board of directors of Musica Oramus, a local Catholic sacred music organization and choir in the Archdiocese of Milwaukee.
