BENEDICT XVI'S MONTHLY INTENTIONS 2007
January Peace. That in our violent time, Bishops may continue to show the way of peace and understanding among peoples. (G)
Church in Africa. That the Church in Africa may be a witness of the Good News of Christ and be committed to the promotion of reconciliation and peace. (M)
February Just Distribution of Resources. That the goods of the earth, given by God for all people, may be used wisely and in accordance with justice and solidarity. (G)
Fight Against Diseases. That governments of all nations may cooperate to fight diseases and epidemics in the Third World. (M)
March Hearing God's Word. That the Word of God may be ever more listened to, contemplated, loved, and lived. (G)
Lay Formation. That the training of catechists and lay people may be the constant concern of those responsible for the young Churches. (M)
April Call to Holiness. That guided by the Holy Spirit, each Christian may respond enthusiastically and faithfully to the universal call to holiness. (G)
Vocations. That the number of priestly and religious vocations may grow to meet the needs in North American and countries of the Pacific Ocean. (M)
May Attentiveness to God. That, like the Virgin Mary, all Christians may be guided by the Word of God and remain attentive to the signs of the Lord in their own lives. (G)
Seminary teachers. That in mission territories there may be good and enlightened teachers in the major seminaries and institutes of consecrated life. (M)
June Sailors. That the Lord may protect sailors and all those involved in maritime activities. (G)
North African Church. That the Church in North Africa may bear witness to God's love for every individual and all peoples. (M)
July Common Good. That all citizens may participate actively in working to achieve and maintain the common good. (G)
Help for Missionaries. That all Christians, aware of their missionary duty, may actively help those engaged in the evangelization of peoples. (M)
August Those suffering inner turmoil. That those who are suffering inner difficulties and trials may find in Christ the light and support that leads to authentic happiness. (G)
Church in China. That the Church in China may grow in unity and in visible communion with the Pope. (M)
September Romanian Assembly. That the ecumenical assembly in Romania this month may contribute to the growth of unity among all Christians. (G)
Missionaries. That, following Christ joyfully, all missionaries may know how to overcome the difficulties they meet in everyday life. (M)
October Minority Christians. That Christians who are in minority situations may have strength and courage to live their faith and persevere in bearing witness to it. (G)
World Missionary Day. That World Missionary Day may kindle a greater missionary awareness in every baptized person. (M)
November Respect for Life. That medical researchers and legislators may have a deep respect for human life from its beginning to its natural conclusion. (G)
Peace in Korea. That the spirit of reconciliation and peace may grow in the Korean Peninsula. (M)
December Those Suffering from AIDS. That society may care for those stricken with AIDS, especially women and children, and that the Church may help them feel the Lord's love. (G)
Asia. That the incarnation of the Son of God may help the peoples of Asia recognize Jesus as God's Envoy, the only Savior of the world. (M) |
